At the invitation of the executive office of SaskPower, Torrie Smith
Associates was retained to review the assumptions and the methods being
used by SaskPower to forecast the future demand for electricity, with a
particular emphasis on the role of demand side management in the utility's
planning cycle.

Electricity Demand in Ontario (TSA 9007)
We completed a comprehensive assessment of the future demand for electricity
in Ontario as part of the research being undertaken in connection with
the environmental assessment of Ontario Hydro's long range business plan.
The research has included an in-depth analysis of the factors that affect
the demand for electricity, the identification of the costs and benefits
of technological measures for electricity conservation, and various other
matters relating to issues before the Environmental Assessment Board.
